
Sometimes the voice of the people struggles to be heard.
Vox Populi is a new play that deals with a range of political and societal themes that seem all too real at the time of writing.
With one week remaining before the next Federal Election, Prime Minister Luka Zelig must come to terms with the likelihood of a substantial political loss as a result of the weight of progressive policies she has ushered in during her term in office.
Following that near-certain electoral defeat, faced with an incoming new prime minister set to institute tyrannical control through initially gradual changes then escalating changes, Luka has to decide how far she will go to stand by her principles, and what effect that will have on the people around her.
The play deals with the increased polarisation of binary politics, the manner in which freedoms can be forfeited imperceptibly over time, the manner in which news is reported, how news is being commoditised, and how easily people will surrender democracy and justice when they are offered comfort for their fears.

Written by Chris Gordon in 2025, the play is looking for a home and a production team, and the author and show supporters are hoping it may have it’s international debut in 2026.
