About Time is a musical revue that takes audiences time travelling across the last 100 years of musicals.
Featuring songs from each of the ten decades, the songs are connected by two time travellers determined to find a glitch in time. Or is that what's really happening?
Using a similar narrative device to the revue "Villains and Vixens", the two emcees play out a story, connecting the songs with leading to a surprising conclusion.
The initial impetus for the show was a desire by co-director Sarah Trama to have an all singing, all dancing roaring 20s extravaganza.
With the most likely candidate (Chicago) unavailable, Sarah and co-director Chris Gordon shared input on what songs to use, and Chris wrote a script to connect the pieces with a layered narrative that reveals throughout the show.
The developed show in its final form was an extravaganza of talent on and off stage, incorporating not only members of the Rocky Hill Musical Theatre Company, but guidance and assistance from members of the Lieder Theatre Company and the Hume Conservatorium.
About Time was initially to be performed for eight shows from Friday March 20 through to Saturday April 4 2020, but sadly was placed on postponed and then cancelled due to the pandemic crisis just two days before opening night.
It is hoped that one day, the Time will finally arrive for this show.
